A good tool, and the truth about it
We don't set out to be the biggest or the cheapest. We set out to be honest about what Colletta does, careful with what you write, and easy to leave. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
-
We tell you what it can and can't do
This site describes what works today, and anything planned is labeled "planned". The Compare page lists what we don't do, and if a page here oversells something, we'll fix the page.
-
Your documents are yours
Every document is plain markdown. You can download any document you have permission to export, and a whole workspace downloads as a zip of those documents, with drafts left out unless you include your own. If you leave, you take your writing with you.
-
Access means what it says
When an Owner or Admin removes someone, it takes effect right away, even in a document they have open. Search, links, images and downloads only ever include what you're allowed to open.
-
We guard your data
We never sell your data or show ads, and we never use the content of your documents for analytics or testing. We will never train AI on your documents, images or data.
Photos you upload lose their location and camera details.
-
It should work for everyone
The app works from the keyboard and follows your system setting for reduced motion. Automated checks test every main page, panel and dialog against WCAG 2.2 AA in light, dark and phone layouts, and testing by hand with VoiceOver is under way. Where it falls short, we treat that as a bug.
Write the next document together.
Access is by invitation during the private beta. Join the waitlist for a place, and read the docs to see how Colletta works.
