Trash

Deleting something doesn’t remove it straight away. Deleted documents and folders stay in the trash for 30 days unless someone removes them for good sooner, and people who can edit can bring them back.

Choose Delete in the item’s menu, or select it and press Delete. It goes to the trash. Deleting needs Full access.

Open Trash in the sidebar and choose Restore. The item goes back where it was. Something inside a deleted folder comes back when you restore the folder.

If a folder that holds your draft is deleted, the draft goes to the trash with it and the bell tells you. Choose Restore to… to bring it back into a folder you can edit. It stays your draft. If the folder is restored instead, your draft comes back with it.

When a member is removed from the workspace or deletes their account, their drafts move to the trash too. Workspace Owners see each one as “Draft by” the person, or “Former member”, with its title and date. Restoring one makes it that Owner’s draft. Otherwise it’s removed after 30 days like everything else.

People with Full access to an item and an Owner, Admin or Member role can choose Delete for good. Only workspace Owners can Empty trash for the whole workspace or remove a departed member’s draft for good. Removing something for good also deletes its history, comments and uploaded images, and it can’t be undone. Anything left in the trash is removed for good after 30 days.
